Searching for the best seafood restaurant in Seminyak? Bonito serves fresh catch and Puglia-style seafood cooking on an open-air rooftop above KLEO Seminyak. It’s open daily from 5 to 11 PM, dinner only. Here’s what makes it worth the reservation.
Bonito is a casual seafood restaurant with an elevated setting. The rooftop looks out over the Seminyak coastline, open to the sky instead of a ceiling.
You can sit at the counter bar, the main dining area, or the outdoor terrace. Valet parking is available, so arriving is easy even on a busy night.
The seafood is sourced fresh daily. It’s grilled, raw, or blanched, depending on what suits the catch best that day.
Bonito was created by Chef Restaurateur Maurizio Bombini, who grew up eating fish and seafood in his hometown of Puglia, Italy. That upbringing shapes how the kitchen treats seafood here: simple, comforting, and built around the ingredient, not around fuss.
Bonito is the sister restaurant of Mauri Seminyak, also run by Chef Bombini. If you want the full story of how Bonito, Mauri, and Zia Tina connect as one restaurant family, read One Family, Three Tables.
Start with the raw and blanched seafood bar, or the crispy fritto misto. Move on to grilled fish, or one of the signature pastas: Bottoni Cacio e Pepe, Gnocchetti al Ragù, or the Chicken Yakitori for guests who want meat over seafood.
For the table that wants to share, order A Taste of Bonito. It’s a tasting menu curated by the chef using the kitchen’s best ingredients and signature dishes, built for two or more people. For a longer breakdown of what to order, see What to Order at Bonito.
Aperitivo Hour runs daily from 5 to 7 PM, with oysters at IDR 12,000 each, wine by the glass at IDR 80,000, and complimentary snacks.
Tuesdays bring a free dessert with any meal. Thursdays are BoniBacio Nights, with pass-around live cooking, unlimited oysters, pasta, and fritto misto for IDR 280,000 including one drink. Saturdays run Triple Treat: buy two drinks, get the third free, all night.
Bonito has been featured by The Honeycombers as one of Bali’s go-to seafood spots. After four and a half years building a following in Umalas, the kitchen and team moved to a bigger stage: the rooftop at KLEO Seminyak, at Jl. Taman Ganesha, Jl. Petitenget No. 9.
Same recipes, same team, new view. If you want a feel for what the rooftop looks and feels like at sunset, check out Golden Hour at Bonito.
